Located in Asheboro, North Carolina, within easy reach of Pinehurst, Tot Hill Farm is one of the most distinctive and visually dramatic golf courses in the American South.

Designed by the late Mike Strantz and opened in 2000, Tot Hill Farm is a course built around imagination, strategy and the extraordinary natural landscape.

Strantz – whose celebrated portfolio also includes Tobacco Road – was renowned for creating bold and unconventional golf courses, and Tot Hill Farm is perhaps one of the purest examples of his philosophy. Upon completing the course, Strantz described Tot Hill Farm as the best course he had ever built.

Today, Golf Digest ranks Tot Hill Farm #33 among all golf courses in North Carolina, placing it amongst some exceptional company in one of America's great golfing states.

The par-72 course plays to approximately 6,500 yards, but length tells very little of the story.

Tot Hill Farm winds through an extraordinary landscape of dramatic elevation changes, exposed rock formations, creeks, ravines and mature woodland. Fairways climb and fall across the property, while huge natural boulders and streams are incorporated directly into the architecture.

The course features the unusual combination of five par 3s and five par 5s, creating tremendous variety throughout the round.
One of the standout holes is the spectacular par-3 3rd, where the green wraps around a huge natural rock formation. Golf Digest named it the best 3rd hole built in the United States since 2000.

Other memorable features include the rock wall crossing the 10th fairway, the dramatic par-3 13th surrounded by rock and water, and the beautiful 15th where a waterfall provides the backdrop to the green.

Tot Hill Farm underwent a major restoration in 2023, with the objective of returning the course as closely as possible to Mike Strantz's original vision.

Greens and bunkers were rebuilt, the putting surfaces were converted to Prizm Zoysia, original playing corridors were reopened and extensive tree and overgrowth removal once again exposed many of the dramatic rock formations, streams and views that Strantz intended golfers to experience.

The result is a golf course that is bold, unconventional and enormous fun to play.

Rather than simply asking golfers to hit straight shots from tee to green, Tot Hill Farm constantly presents decisions. Dramatic sightlines can make landing areas appear smaller than they really are, while slopes, angles and contours can be used to feed the ball towards the target.

1st Place: £100 GAGT voucher

Each Nearest the Pin prize will be a £25 GAGT voucher.

Sweep:  An optional sweep of $10, collected in cash during check-in.  The sweep will be paid out for the leading three scores and anyone who scores a two.

The draw will be available on our website 2 days before the round.

Merit points will be awarded.

Points will be awarded on the basis of 100 points to the winner, 99 points for runner-up, 98 points for third, and so on.

Participants need to be a current member of the GAGT to qualify for merit points.
