The inaugural Staysure Matchplay
We have amended the format to suit the number of entries received.
We have brought the morning tee time forward to 8.00am to allow sufficient time for all matches to complete the morning round and make the matchplay draw before the pm round starts at 2.00pm.
The scoring format for the morning round on the Highgate Course will be individual stableford and the leading 16 scores will qualify to play matchplay in the afternoon on the Lodge Course.
As soon as all the matches have handed in their scores from the morning we will make the draw in fourballs for the afternoon round. The leading am score will play matchplay over 9 holes against the 16 am score, the 2nd am score will play the 15 am score and so on.
On the back nine holes the winner between 1st & 16th am scores will play matchplay against the winner between the 2nd & 15th am scores.
Stroke Allowance will be full handicap difference.
After 9 holes there will be two winners in each fourball. If a match is tied after 9 holes the winner will be the player with the most stableford points. If still tied the result will be decided by card play off - most points last 6 holes, 3 holes, last hole.
Gross scores on each hole must be recorded and all putts MUST be holed out as there will be prizes for the best three AM & PM rounds and OoM points will be issued as usual.
After the pm round there will be four winners who will go on to play in the semi finals and final at Sunningdale on the 27th August. The draw for the semi finals will also be based on the morning scores at Enville.
In addition to the matchplay competition all competitors will play 36 holes of stableford and OoM points will be awarded as usual for both rounds.
OoM points will also be awarded for the matchplay competition – see below
The four semi finalists will be invited to Sunningdale on Tuesday 27th August at no charge to play the semi final over 18 holes on the New Course am and the final over the Old Course pm.
If one of the four players is not available for Sunningdale on 27th August the place will be offered to the competitor they beat in the previous round.
The ultimate winner at Sunningdale will receive £150 Tour voucher and the runner up will receive £100 Tour voucher.
