Courses
Oddur Golf Club – Urriðavöllur
Our Iceland adventure begins at Oddur Golf Club, home to the highly regarded Urriðavöllur championship course and one of the leading golfing venues in the country.
Opened in 1997, Urriðavöllur is a par-71 championship course set amongst beautiful Icelandic heathland on the outskirts of Reykjavík. The course is flanked by ancient lava from the dormant Búrfell volcano, immediately giving the round a character and landscape unlike almost anywhere else in golf.
At around 6,400 yards, the challenge comes from much more than length. Natural terrain, strategically positioned hazards and the surrounding lava place an emphasis on accuracy and thoughtful course management.
Oddur also has impressive championship credentials, having hosted the European Ladies' Amateur Team Championship in 2016, the European Girls' Team Championship in 2022 and the Icelandic Stroke Play Championship in 2023.
The course was also named Iceland's Best Golf Course at the 2023 World Golf Awards, adding to its reputation as one of the country's premier golfing venues.
A combination of championship golf, volcanic landscape and unmistakably Icelandic surroundings provides a fantastic opening round to the week.
Reykjavík Golf Club – Grafarholt Course
Our second round takes us to Grafarholt, the original 18-hole course of Reykjavík Golf Club – Iceland's oldest golf club, founded in 1934.
Opened in 1963, Grafarholt occupies a spectacular elevated position on the eastern side of Reykjavík, providing panoramic views across the city and towards the surrounding mountains.
The course was designed by Swedish golf course architect Nils Sköld and is recognised as one of Iceland's classic championship layouts. Its naturally undulating terrain, elevation changes and exposed position create a varied test where the Icelandic wind can have a major influence on club selection and strategy.
Grafarholt has played an important role in Icelandic golf history and has hosted numerous major domestic championships. It was also the venue for the European Youths Team Championship in 1997, further demonstrating its championship credentials.
Currently ranked #4 in Iceland by Top100GolfCourses, Grafarholt remains one of the country's most highly regarded courses.
Elevated tees, changes in direction and beautifully positioned greens require golfers to continually adapt, while the spectacular Icelandic landscape provides a dramatic backdrop throughout the round.
Combining more than 60 years of history, championship pedigree and outstanding views, Grafarholt provides a very different challenge from the volcanic terrain of Oddur.
Reykjavík Golf Club – Korpa Course (Optional Afternoon Round)For those looking to make the most of their time in Iceland, an optional afternoon round at Reykjavík Golf Club’s Korpa Course offers another fantastic opportunity to experience the country’s distinctive golfing landscape.Opened in 1997, Korpa is an impressive championship venue featuring three contrasting nine-hole loops, combining coastal, riverside and inland golf to create a varied and memorable challenge. The course’s coastal holes run alongside the Atlantic Ocean, offering spectacular views towards Mount Esja and the surrounding coastline. Here, the exposed setting and ever-changing Icelandic winds create a true links-style test, rewarding accuracy, imagination and careful club selection. The character changes as the course follows the winding River Korpa, where narrower fairways, strategic doglegs and the river itself bring a different set of challenges. The combination of open coastal golf and more sheltered riverside holes ensures that every part of the round offers something different. With its beautiful scenery, varied layout and challenging design, Korpa is an excellent addition for golfers keen to fit in an extra round and enjoy even more of what Iceland has to offer. An optional opportunity to extend the golfing adventure, discover another of Reykjavík’s leading courses and make the most of this unforgettable Icelandic golf trip.Brautarholt Golf Club
Brautarholt is one of the most spectacular courses in Iceland and has developed an international reputation for both its setting and its golf.
Situated on the Kjalarnes peninsula, approximately 30 minutes from central Reykjavík, the course occupies a breathtaking position surrounded by Icelandic scenery, with dramatic views across the water and towards Reykjavík.
Brautarholt is currently ranked #2 in Iceland by Top100GolfCourses and has also received recognition much further afield, including a place in Golf World's Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe.
The course makes exceptional use of its natural coastal setting. Ocean views accompany much of the round, while the combination of elevation changes, exposed terrain and constantly changing wind conditions means golfers are continually asked to adapt their strategy and shot selection.
Rather than relying purely on length, Brautarholt rewards imagination, accuracy and intelligent golf – exactly the qualities traditionally associated with great coastal courses.
Its combination of spectacular scenery and distinctive Icelandic terrain makes Brautarholt much more than simply another round of golf. It is one of the standout experiences of the week and an opportunity to play one of Iceland's highest-ranked courses.
Keilir Golf Club
Our final round takes us to Keilir Golf Club, currently ranked #1 in Iceland by Top100GolfCourses and one of the most distinctive golf courses on the Global Amateur Golf Tour calendar.
Located at Hafnarfjörður, just outside Reykjavík, Keilir offers two dramatically different golfing experiences within the same 18 holes.
The opening nine is routed through a remarkable black lava field, where accuracy is essential and wayward shots can quickly find some of Iceland's unforgiving volcanic terrain.
The back nine then changes character completely, moving onto a small peninsula at the entrance to Hafnarfjörður harbour. Here, golfers are treated to spectacular coastal views towards the Snæfellsjökull glacier and Álftanes peninsula.
Keilir is a course where skill and accuracy are rewarded over power, with the surrounding lava, coastline and wind demanding careful strategy throughout the round.
Few golf courses can offer such a dramatic contrast between two nines – from volcanic lava fields to exposed coastal golf overlooking the North Atlantic.
A truly unique Icelandic golf experience and a spectacular setting in which to complete four days of golf.
